Adron Earl Harris

Adron Earl Harris passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Oklahoma Veterans Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born December 5, 1919, in Boyd, TX to Clyde and Maggie (McConnell) Harris.
He moved to Hobart OK from Boyd, TX when he was nine years of age. Adron was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps. Adron married Peggy Tate on June 10, 1949 in Hobart, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on April 22, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon. Adron was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a local farmer/rancher and an employee of the Federal Aviation Agency. He moved his family to Alaska in 1957 and back to Oklahoma in 1960 after a six month stop over in North Carolina. Adron enjoyed dancing with his wife, Peggy, watching Hobart Bearcat sporting events and OU foot ball. For years Adron and Peggy enjoyed taking their traqvel trailer to South Texas, and Ruidosa, New Mexico.


He is survived by three sons: Wally and wife Mary Harris, Louisville, CO
Jeff Harris and Lori Beard, Platteville,CO
Earl and Vanessa Harris, Anchorage, AK
one daughter, Jan and David Gimlin, Hobart, OK
brother, James Harris, Hobart, OK
five grandchildren: Lauren, Evan, Darrin, Dylan, and John

Funeral Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013
First United Methodist Church
Hobart, OK
Officiating: Rev. Brandon Dollarhite

Burial will follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Hobart.
