Services for Aaron Ray Haury 33 of Anadarko will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 301 W Kansas Ave, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
Aaron was born May 22, 1983 in Ridgecrest California to Herman Ray Haury & Rosie Ruiz Haury, and left with Jesus to Heaven, Monday, March 6, 2017 at OU Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnnie Haury Sr; grandmother Etheline (Boots) Tslote; grandmother Virginia Rose (Wade) Gonzales; brother Louie Ruiz Haury; niece Isabella Eleanor Haury'Rasband.
Aaron was a member of the Kiowa Tribe (Kxai-hehn P'ayne-hay Knee) his Kiowa name given to him from his grandpa Johnny Haury Sr. School was too easy for him so at the age of 16 he received his GED. He moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 18 and returned to his job at Salt Lake International Airport. He also enjoyed working with his late brother, Louie Haury, as a roofer. When Aaron was not working, he enjoyed spending time with family, teaching his nieces how to make frybread, meat pies, and teaching his nephew, Alex, chords on his little guitar, spending time with his nephew, Noe, and niece, Arianna, gave him joy and giving them money to go to dollar store seeing their faces light up with excitement He enjoyed music and creating music with his childhood friends. Aaron, although, he had never had any guitar lessons, Derrick Haunpo showed him a few guitar chords, he was very talented and able to play any song by ear on his guitar. Together with his childhood friends they formed the band Occidis.
Occidis was a very successful Salt Lake local band. They played many sold-out venues in the Greater Salt Lake area. During this time they were also souted by record producers many times. However, they chose to stay in local underground music scene and not to go main stream. To this day, they have many fans that had hop for a reunion of their band, Jon Magesan the lead singer of Occidis said of him (Aaron) was the reason I have such a different perspective of things and why I can see solutions easier. He was a major impact in my life. Mike Jacques, rhythm guitarist of Occidis remembers him just being very witty and always had something funny to say about everything and soft spoken. Inti Moravec, friend and old roommate, remembers him as a business savvy mentor. A man who had a lot of insight on manipulating the immediate circumstance to find a favorable outcome. He also showed me that no matter what self-image I portray, to stick to what's important. I remember once when I made an inappropriate comment towards his sister, he took me aside and properly put me in my place without belittling me. He respected our friendship while respecting his family.
As a child he loved going fishing with his Grandma Virginia and loved cooking. He made up his own dishes. One of his favorite desserts that he created was cherry cheese cake.
