Jeremy Reid

Jeremy Dewayne Reid age 36 of Anadarko Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016 with his family by his side.
He was born on January 26, 1980 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Marilyn Yeahquo and Carter Camp. Jeremy has a strong bloodline of Kiowa and Ponca Warriors.
Jeremy is a direct descendant on his maternal side of Guipago (Old Chief Loewolf), Tanedooah/Tainpeah Family and Samuel Toppah Yellowhair. On his paternal side he is a direct descendant of Chief Standing Bear, Chief White Eagle and Chief RedCloud of the Oglala Lakota.

Jeremy attended Carnegie Public Schools along with Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Riverside Indian School in 1999. Jeremy was employed at Riverside Indian School and work as a Home Living Assistant in the Wichita Dorm AKA T-Unit. He loved his T-Unit students and helped them as much as he could. He wanted to see the students walk in courage and dignity. When he was a student at Riverside he enjoyed playing basketball and participating in other student activities. He loved watching his favorite basketball team the Oklahoma Thunder and was a avid fan of the OU Football program. In 2001, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. After his service of duty, he then moved back home and began working at Riverside Indian School. He is an Alumni at Riverside and his greatest achievement was to work at his Alma Mater.
Jeremy's mother taught him how to have cultural identity and he taught his three children the importance of being Native American in the 21 Century. Jeremy was also an activist for Native American and Human rights. He participated in a spiritual walk from Tulsa Oklahoma to Ft. Leavenworth Kansas in honor of Leonard Peltier. He also participated in a protest of Columbus Day/500 years of oppression, which was held at the State Capital. Jeremy recently participated in a protest on behalf of MAH-HI-VIST (Redbird). Jeremy opened his heart to the Good Blanket Family and gave an awe inspiring speech at the MAH-HI-VIST protest. While following in his father's footsteps as best as he could, Jeremy participated in numerous American Indian Movement (AIM) rallies, protest, and demonstrations. Jeremy fulfilled his purpose on Mother Earth by selflessly giving of his time an effort to ensure equality to others.

Brothers: Tennyson Reid, Anadarko, Marc Camp, Philadelphia, PA, Vic Camp, Posh Camp, Ambahska Camp of Manderson, South Dakota, Kenneth Camp and Augustus Camp, White Eagle, Oklahoma and Albert Bringing Good of Anadarko

He is preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Yeahquo Reid, Father Carter Camp, Maternal grandparents; Maurice and Mary Toppah/Yeahquo,

Wake Service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Grace Christian Fellowship, Anadarko, Oklahoma

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Grace Christian Fellowship, Anadarko, Oklahoma, officiating Reverend Monroe Tsatoke and Timothy Yeahquo.

Burial will be at Mt. Scott Kiowa KCA Cemetery, Lawton.

A meal will be served at Mt. Scott Kiowa United Methodist Church.
