Hazel Lorene Russell

Lorene Russell of Mountain View, OK, passed away in her home on Monday, March 7, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 2, 1929, to C. E. and Lora Zimmerman at the Zimmerman home in the Pecan Community near Carnegie, Oklahoma. Lorene graduated from Sedan High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was married to Robert Russell on March 28, 1948, and they began their almost 63 years of marriage together. Lorene shared in the work of the Texaco Consignee business and their farming life and duties with Bob for as long as her health would allow. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mountain View for over 50 years. She was a devoted member and served the church and community in leadership and as a volunteer for many years. The family is so appreciative of the help and care given to Lorene by her caregivers, Emily Donithan and Sharla McDougale over the last few months of her life. Also much gratitude to Faith Hospice of Anadarko, Oklahoma, for their care and support over the last few weeks to Lorene and her entire family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Lora Zimmerman, 2 sisters, Anna Bell Hansel
and Gladys Tabor.

son, Warren Russell, Oklahoma City, OK
daughter, Teresa Bockus and husband, Henry, Oklahoma City, OK
grandsons: Hank Bockus and wife, Marie, Oklahoma City, OK
Andy Bockus and wife, Caroline, of San Diego, CA
great-granddaughter, Addison Rose Bockus, Oklahoma City, OK


Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011
First United Methodist Church, Mountain View, OK

Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Mountain View, OK.
